Buy Inflatable Boat! Reviews of the Top 3 Inflatables

Intex manufactures a whole line of inflatable boats, from pool toys all the way up to their marine quality inflatables.

The best of the bunch, by far, is their Intex Mariner Inflatable Boat Set.

You can read a detailed review of this boat by clicking the link above.

I recommend this boat over the cheaper Intex models for several reasons…

For one, it’s built with extremely thick and durable vinyl, with 2 layers of heavy gauge PVC, combined with an inner layer of strong polyester mesh.

This top of the line material isn’t used on the cheaper Intex models.

And if there’s one thing I’ve learned after years of boating on inflatables, it’s this.

Never compromise of quality.

Why?

Because low quality means more punctured air chambers, more leaks, more repairs, and more hassles.

In other words, spend just a little bit more, and you’ll avoid all the hassles of owning a lower quality boat.

That being said, I know that some of you are shopping strictly on price.

If this describes you, here’s the model I’d recommend for you…

The Intex Seahawk II Boat Set

This boat isn’t made with the same high quality material as the Mariner, but it’s close.

As a matter of fact, the fabric quality beats out every other boat in the Intex line except for the Mariner.

It’s fairly rigid and tough, and will hold up very well, as long as you avoid sharp sticks, rocks, and white water rafting conditions.

The downside is, it’s not a huge boat….

2 adults and one child, or one adult and a few kids is about the limit with this inflatable.

If you need more space, you’re going to have to go for a bigger boat.

In this case, I’d recommend the Intex Excursion 5 Boat Set.

This is a very large boat, with plenty of interior space, but the added space does come at a price.

Lower quality construction!

The boat is constructed with a nice thick vinyl, but not as thick and durable as the fabric used on the Mariner and the Seahawk.

This means you’ll need to use a bit more caution while using this boat.

That being said, if you plan on using this inflatable on calm rivers and lakes, you should be fine.

Just avoid hazardous conditions, and leave all sharp objects on shore when you put your boat out on the water.

The bottom line?

Buy the highest quality boat you can afford.

And if you can’t afford a top of the line inflatable, you can be confident that you’ll get the best boat in your price range, as long as you stick with the Intex brand.

Happy boating!
